FREZZOLINI
ELECTRONICS INC. (FREZZI ENERGY SYSTEMS) RECEIVES AN EMMY FOR OUTSTANDING ACHIEVEMENT FOR
DEVELOPMENT OF ADVANCED BATTERY TECHNOLOGY FOR ENG / EFP OCTOBER 3, 2000
Hawthorne,
NJ - Frezzi Energy Systems was awarded an Emmy by The National Academy of Television Arts
and Sciences at a black-tie dinner ceremony in New York City. Frezzi was honored for
Outstanding Achievement in Engineering Development of Advanced Battery Technology for
ENG/EFP news gathering. "The National Academy's Scientific and Technological
Advancement Awards highlight the impact that technological breakthroughs have had on the
transmission, recording or reception of television," said John Cannon, president of
the National Academy of Television Arts and Sciences.
James
Crawford, president of Frezzi, accepted the award. "We are proud to be recognized as
innovators by our industry and peers," said Jim Crawford. Frezzi was recognized for
its contribution in pioneering advanced batteries and chargers for the ENG/EFP cameras
from their inceptions until present day.
Frezzi's
illustrious history began in the earliest days of broadcasting with the development of
portable lighting and battery power. Since the inception of news broadcasts, Frezzi has
worked with the ever-changing technology, beginning with film news, to the latest digital
cameras. By designing the most advanced lighting and power equipment that meet the rugged
requirements of field news gathering, Frezzi continues their objectives.
The
Emmy was awarded for Frezzi's innovative work when broadcasting changed from film to video
format. As video became the standard, Frezzi made the smooth transition and became the
first company to design reliable and dependable portable lights and batteries for video
cameras.
One
challenge that Frezzi faced with the advent of Television News was that video cameras
required a dual power source, as compared to the typical single ended supplies of today.
Frezzi reviewed the new systems and developed battery packs specifically designed for
individual camera manufacturers to accommodate their power requirements.
Today,
the company continues to innovate new products for the broadcast industry. These include
advanced batteries, chargers, portable and location lighting in both quartz and HMI
formats. Frezzi has also been a qualified source for the US Department of Defense under
various government contracts. Frezzi Energy Systems is a family owned company located in
Hawthorne, NJ, in business for over 60 years with a dedication to the TV broadcast
industry.
